Obituary: Charles Edward Gulley Jr.

April 18, 1942 – June 19, 2025

Charles Edward Gulley Jr., 83, of Bedford, passed away at IU Health Bloomington Hospital on Thursday, June 19, 2025.

He was born April 18, 1942, to the late Charles and Dora (Pervis) Gulley.

He married Mildred Emma Gulley, and she survives. He was a veteran of three years in the United States Navy, a building contractor for many years, and worked at the Bedford Parks Department. Additionally, he umpired at Murray Park in Bedford. Charlie was an avid golfer, a member of the Free Methodist Church, administrator of the Bedford Moose Lodge 689, and president of the Indiana Moose Association.

Surviving to cherish Charlie’s memory is his wife of 45 years, Mildred Emma Gulley; his children, Jim (Kathy) Gulley, David (Becca) Gulley, Shawn (Tonya) Cunningham, and Robin Shoopman; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Jim Gulley; half-sister, Charlene Childers; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Charles and Dora Bell Gulley; his brother, Earl Gulley; and his sister-in-law, Donna Gulley.

Cremation has been chosen, and no services are scheduled at this time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff at Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford.
