North Vernon Woman Arrested for Domestic Battery in Lawrence County
LAWRENCE CO. – A North Vernon woman, Felcicia J. White, 25, was arrested on Wednesday, June 4, on a preliminary charge of domestic battery following a physical altercation at a property on Rainmaker Street.
According to an affidavit for probable cause filed by Sgt. R. Compton of the Lawrence County Police Department, central dispatch received a call at approximately 2:52 p.m. reporting an active physical altercation between a woman and Felcicia J. White, who is identified as the girlfriend of the caller’s brother-in-law.

Upon arrival, Sgt. Compton made contact with the female caller, who stated that White had fled on foot. Officer McMillian of the Mitchell Police Department located White with a male nearby.
The female caller told Sgt. Compton, the altercation stemmed from the death of her father-in-law’s dog, which White allegedly blamed on the female caller, despite the father-in-law believing it was accidental. The female caller claimed White initiated the physical contact, throwing the first punch, which landed on the back left side of her head. She reported that White threw multiple punches to her head, causing pain and a headache.
Males who witnessed the fight corroborated the caller’s account.
White, after being read her Miranda rights, provided a different account. She claimed the female caller began yelling at her to return to her side of the property. White alleged that the female caller then grabbed her, scratched her arms, neck, and chest, punched her in the face, and pulled her hair. White stated she only pushed the woman to escape.
White was cooperative with officers throughout the encounter.
White was arrested on-site.
A Probable Cause Affidavit outlines the initial findings and allegations that led to an arrest. Criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
