WASHINGTON – A multi-agency investigation, spearheaded by Detectives with the Washington Police Department and the DEA Task Force, culminated on Thursday, May 29, in the arrest of two individuals and the seizure of over 800 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine.
The investigation led to the arrests of 62-year-old Robert Krueger and 31-year-old Joel Fleetwood.

The operation began at approximately 9:35 p.m., when deputies with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and K9 Focus conducted a traffic stop on Fleetwood in Washington, detaining him without incident.

Following the traffic stop, Detectives and Officers from the Washington Police, Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, and the DEA served a search warrant at a residence on Southwest 1st Street. During this search, authorities reportedly seized the suspected methamphetamine, along with items associated with methamphetamine distribution, firearms, cash, and over 400 grams of suspected marijuana.
Concurrently, as the warrant was being executed, the Washington Police Department Emergency Response Team (ERT) served a secondary search warrant at a residence on Cosby Street, also part of the ongoing investigation.
Both Fleetwood and Krueger face charges of conspiracy to deal methamphetamine, dealing marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Officers and detectives with the Washington Police Department, Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service assisted agencies throughout the investigation.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty through a fair and due legal process. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
