BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Visit Bloomington, is pleased to announce the continuation of its popular Performing Arts Series and the return of Movies in the Parks, offering a summer filled with free entertainment.

Throughout June, residents and visitors can enjoy complimentary live performances from talented local musicians as part of the Performing Arts Series. Concerts will be held at various beloved city parks, including The Waldron, Hill and Buskirk Park, Switchyard Park, Bryan Park, and Peoples Park. Additionally, a new Tuesday Tunes series will debut at Hopewell Commons, adding another venue for community enjoyment. The success of the Performing Arts Series is made possible through the dedicated support of long-standing partners: the Bloomington Community Band, the Bloomington Jazz Orchestra, the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, and the Monroe County Civic Theater.

In exciting news for film enthusiasts, the Movies in the Parks Series, presented in partnership with Cicada Cinema, continues on Thursday, June 5th. Gather at Rev. Ernest D. Butler Park at 9:15 p.m. for a free showing of the PG-rated film “Cloak & Dagger” on the city’s brand-new movie screen. The full schedule of summer movies is also available online.
