Toyota recalls over 443,000 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles due to reverse light issue

INDIANA – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a recall affecting more than 443,400 Toyota Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles from model years 2022 to 2025. The recall stems from a potential issue with the vehicles’ lighting system.

According to the NHTSA, moisture can seep into the reverse light assemblies of the affected vehicles, potentially leading to their failure. This could pose a safety risk as it may reduce visibility when backing up.

Toyota dealerships will address the issue by replacing both reverse light assemblies. Additionally, wire harnesses will be repaired as needed, and all work will be performed free of charge to the owners.

Owners of the affected vehicles can expect to receive notification letters by mail after June 30, 2025. For more immediate information, Toyota owners can contact the company directly at 800-331-4331. Toyota’s internal recall numbers for this issue are 24TB06 and 24TA06.
