MITCHELL— As the end of the school year approaches, the Mitchell High School Class of 2025 is eagerly anticipating graduation and reflecting on the milestones that have defined their time as Bluejackets. Over the past four years, these seniors have stood out through academic achievement, athletic excellence, and meaningful community involvement. Looking ahead, they’re preparing for a variety of paths—college, trade schools, and careers—each guided by the experiences and values gained at Mitchell High School.

Denton Shoults
Senior Spotlight: Denton enjoys the thrill of running in Demolition Derbies and spending quality time with his brothers, friends, and girlfriend. He has a knack for tinkering with vehicles and enjoys working on them mechanically in his free time.
Denton plans to enter the workforce full-time after graduation.

Anna Sowders
Senior Spotlight: Anna Sowders has excelled both athletically and academically, earning All-Conference honors in basketball and golf, along with Academic All-State recognition for golf. She enjoys pickleball, reading, baking, and gardening. A leader in school, Anna served as president of the National Honor Society and her senior class, while also participating in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Peer Leaders, and the Academic Team. Outside of school, she’s active in Mpact Student Ministry, a mission trip, and spent a year in Germany as an exchange student.
Anna Sowders is excited to take the next step in her educational journey at Indiana University Bloomington.

Kiley Sparks
Senior Spotlight: Kiley has made a lasting impact through her involvement and service. A six-year band member, Academic Team and Astronomy Club participant, Peer Advisor, and even the beloved Bee mascot, she’s brought spirit and dedication to everything she does. Kiley has also volunteered at numerous community events, including the Loogootee Thanksgiving Dinner and local drives providing food and school supplies to those in need. Alongside all this, she’s worked at Papa John’s for three years.
Kiley will begin her academic journey at Ivy Tech, completing her general studies before transferring to Indiana University to pursue a degree in Astronomy.

Connor Teague
Senior Spotlight: He played four years of Varsity Baseball, three years of Varsity Soccer, and three years of JV/Varsity Basketball—earning team captain titles in both baseball and soccer, and the “Most Rebounds” award his sophomore year. Off the court, he served as Vice President of HOSA, where he’s been a committed member for four years, and participated in SADD for three years. Connor is also Dementia Certified through Ivy Tech, a member of the BlueJacket Leadership Club, National Technical Honor Society, and has volunteered with the Special Olympics for two years.
With a heart for helping others, Connor plans to attend Western Governors University or Ivy Tech to pursue a nursing degree.

Thomas Tincher
Senior Spotlight: Thomas is always ready to lend a helping hand and gives 100% to everything he does. Whether it’s spending time with family, friends, or his girlfriend, or working with his dad on motorcycles and cars, he’s never afraid to get his hands dirty. Lately, though, you’ll find him hooked on one thing: fishing. It’s more than a hobby—it’s a lifestyle. When he’s not reeling in a catch, he’s working hard and looking forward to the next adventure.
Thomas has honed a wide range of skills, from technical expertise to electrician work and carpentry, making him a true jack-of-all-trades.

Leighton Walther
Senior Spotlight: Leighton spent two years on the MHS baseball team and two years working at Ruler, balancing school, sports, and a steady job with ease. In his free time, he enjoys catching up on sleep, going to truck meets, and working on vehicles. Whether he’s under the hood or out on the field, Leighton brings a laid-back attitude and a hands-on spirit to everything he does.
Leighton plans to head straight into the workforce after graduation, putting his BNL vocational training to good use.

Hailey Webster
Senior Spotlight: She’s already making a difference in healthcare, working full-time as a CNA at Stonebridge while preparing to graduate with her Medical Assistant Certification. With her dedication and hands-on experience, she’s well on her way to a successful future in the medical field.
She’s ready to begin her journey in healthcare at Ivy Tech, where she’ll pursue her passion for nursing.
