City of Bloomington releases updated Resource Guides covering healthcare, housing, and more

BLOOMINGTON – The City of Bloomington released its updated community resource guides designed to help Bloomington and Monroe County residents access free and reduced-cost basic services. These guides are available for download at bloomington.in.gov/cfrd. The latest releases include:

  • The Commission on Aging published the 2025 Senior Resource Guide and 2025 Senior Healthcare Guide.
  • The 2025 Quick Reference Guide, offering a broad overview of essential services; and
  • A new Substance Use Disorder Resource Guide was developed in partnership with the Monroe County Health Department’s Suicide Overdose Fatality Review (SOFR) Action Team.

Senior Resources

In response to growing community needs, the formerly combined Senior Resource Guide has been split into two distinct publications:

  • The 2025 Senior Resource Guide offers a comprehensive listing of free and low-cost services for adults 55 and older.
  • The 2025 Senior Healthcare Guide focuses exclusively on healthcare and related support services for the senior population.

Quick Reference Guide

The updated 2025 Quick Reference Guide serves as an accessible starting point for individuals seeking services in areas such as:

  • Housing
  • Healthcare
  • Food and nutrition
  • Clothing and household goods
  • Transportation
  • Legal aid
  • Disability services
  • Education
  • Culture
  • Children and families

Substance Use Disorder Guide

Created in collaboration with the SOFR Action Team, the Substance Use Disorder Resource Guide is designed to support individuals at any stage of addiction or recovery. It includes information on:

  • Harm reduction
  • Recovery support services
  • Residential treatment programs
  • Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
  • Outpatient services

All guides are available as downloadable PDFs at bloomington.in.gov/cfrd. Each guide is designed to print on standard 8.5” x 11” paper for easy distribution and accessibility. You can also use the QR codes and direct links for quick access.
