INDIANA – Governor Mike Braun has directed all flags throughout Indiana to be flown at half-staff today, Thursday, May 15th, in solemn observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day.
The directive instructs that all United States and Indiana state flags be lowered from sunrise to sunset in honor of the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve in law enforcement, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
In addition to all state offices and facilities, Governor Braun is also encouraging all Hoosier businesses and residents to participate in this important tribute by lowering their flags. This collective remembrance serves as a powerful symbol of respect and gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of peace officers across the state.
