INDIANA – The State of Indiana has issued an alert regarding a problem with a former email service provider that has led to a surge of spam emails and text messages being sent to residents. These fraudulent messages are often from the Indiana Department of Revenue and other state agencies.
The public is specifically warned to ignore and delete any messages containing a “TxTag Account Suspension Warning.” This tactic is common in spam campaigns and is not a legitimate communication from the State of Indiana.
The Indiana Department of Revenue clarified that their correct email address is dor@subscription.in.gov. Residents should be wary of any emails claiming to be from the department that do not originate from this address.
The state acknowledged the inconvenience this issue is causing and assured the public that they are actively working to resolve the problem with the former email service provider.
The Indiana Department of Revenue thanked residents for their understanding and cooperation as they work to address this spam issue.
