Mitchell woman facing intimidation and harassment charges over threats about gun

MITCHELL – A Mitchell woman was detained on charges of intimidation and harassment following a complaint made to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department

Andrea Deel of Mitchell, Indiana, has been charged with intimidation and harassment following a complaint made to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed on April 26, 2025, Deputy D. Miller of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department spoke with a male, who reported receiving concerning messages from 39-year-old Andrea Deel regarding a gun. He stated that Deel demanded the return of the weapon, which he no longer had, as it was taken as evidence in a previous case. He also claimed Deel yelled at him from the street near his house.

The affidavit details that Deel sent multiple text messages to the man, including one stating, “I’m on my way to your f***ing house. She’s stupid bitch and I’m f***ing everything up until you’ve done motherf***ers give me all my guns back.”

Deputy Miller’s attempts to contact Deel by phone were unsuccessful, with calls going straight to voicemail. A search of the phone number that sent the messages to the male confirmed that the number belongs to Deel.

The male victim was advised to seek a protection order against Deel. He later informed the Sheriff’s Department that Deel continued to contact him with concerning text messages, including one where Deel allegedly threatened, “You’ll get shot. I promise I f***ing promise you I will shoot you.”

The affidavit states that Deputy Miller documented the text messages and a video of Deel’s numerous calls to the male victim.
