DELAWARE CO. – The Indiana State Police have released the identity of the individual who died in the two-vehicle collision on State Road 67 on April 29th, 2025.
The Delaware County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as Jordan Xavier Ivy, 22, of Muncie. His family has been notified.
The driver of the gray Dodge Ram pickup truck involved in the crash has been identified as Austin Douglas Duncan, 24, of Albany.
As previously reported, the crash occurred at approximately 8:00 a.m. on State Road 67 between County Roads 600 W and 700 W. Preliminary investigation indicates that a red Cadillac XT5, driven by Ivy, was traveling southbound when it drifted across the center line and collided head-on with Duncan’s northbound Dodge Ram.
Both vehicles caught fire following the collision. Duncan was extricated from his vehicle and transported to Ball Memorial Hospital in critical condition. Ivy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team conducted a detailed investigation into the cause of the crash. Investigators currently do not believe drugs or alcohol were contributing factors, with evidence suggesting Ivy may have fallen asleep prior to the collision.
State Road 67 was closed for approximately four hours as emergency personnel investigated and cleared the scene. The Indiana State Police continue to investigate the incident, with Master Trooper Kyle West leading the investigation with the assistance of multiple local agencies.
