JACKSON CO. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Force Construction Company is scheduled to begin a box culvert replacement project on State Road 135 south of U.S. 50 on or after Wednesday, May 14, in Brownstown.
Work will occur between Vallonia Road and 1st Street and is expected to be complete by late July, weather permitting. Temporary traffic signals will be utilized while work is in progress, keeping S.R. 135 open to one lane.
This work is part of a $1.3 million contract awarded to Force Construction in September 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, be cautious, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
