Help The Lawrence County Community Foundation celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week by honoring impactful local educators

BEDFORD- The Lawrence County Community Foundation is Celebrating Teachers. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, May 5 through 9, we are inviting members of the Lawrence County community to share the name of their favorite teacher or mentor and a brief statement on how this person impacted their life.

“Teachers play a vital role in the lives of our children and the future of our community,” said Hope Flores, CFP CEO. “Most of us have that one special teacher who lit a spark in our educational and life journey. We want to recognize those teachers and further help teachers by growing our Great Grants Fund.”

The Great Grants Fund supplies funding for our Classroom Grant program, which provides grants for teachers for innovative projects that reinforce the lessons they are teaching in the classroom in a way that is fun and exciting for the students. These are the projects that students are excited to go home and share with their families. “So many teachers spend their own money for this type of project,” Flores added. “We want to reduce that burden on the teachers and enhance learning for the students.”

By making a gift of any amount to our Great Grants Fund, donors can pay tribute to their favorite educator while supporting grants for teachers. We will recognize these teachers with a post on our Facebook Page.

Gifts, made payable to LCCF, can be sent to LCCF, ATTN: Communications Coordinator, PO Box 1235, Bedford, IN 47421, or dropped off at 3315 5th Street, Bedford. Gifts can also be made online on our website, www.cfpartner.org. After entering PayPal, look for this statement: “+ Operating Gift or Name of Fund.” Click here to add your favorite teacher’s name and your reason for choosing them. (You will be limited to 250 characters.)

Thank you for helping recognize and support our amazing teachers.
