JACKSON CO – Bradley Moore, 46, of Freetown, was sentenced to nearly four years in prison on Thursday following charges stemming from an incident in February 2024.

Initially, Moore faced charges of sexual trafficking, attempted rape, and sexual misconduct after the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a sexual assault involving a 15-year-old. However, at his sentencing hearing, the charges were adjusted. Moore pleaded guilty to the amended charge of promotion of sexual trafficking of a younger child, a Level 3 felony. The charges of rape when the victim is unaware of the defendant’s actions and sexual misconduct with a minor were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
Moore’s initial sentence of 2,190 days was reduced by 730 days, which were suspended, resulting in a sentence of nearly four years in prison.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Moore was arrested on February 5, 2024, at the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown after admitting to Detective J.L. McElfresh that he had requested and paid $50 for a sexually explicit image from the teenager on February 3rd. Moore also admitted to fondling and performing oral sex on the child the following morning.
Moore told Detective McElfresh the explicit image was sent to him via Snapchat. Following his admission, a DNA sample was collected from Moore, and his phone was confiscated as evidence before his arrest.
On February 5, 2024, Detective McElfresh interviewed the child involved, who stated they were in shock and pretended to be asleep during the alleged incident. Afterward, the child contacted someone to pick them up from the residence where the incident occurred. DNA samples were also collected from the child, and the child’s cellphone was held as evidence.
The charge information filed in Jackson Circuit Court indicated that Moore was charged with promotion of sexual trafficking because he allegedly knowingly or intentionally enticed the victim, who was younger than 16, with the intent of inducing or causing the victim to participate in sexual conduct.
