Bloomfield driver critically injured in I-69 accident

MONROE CO. – A driver from Bloomfield, Indiana, remains in critical condition following a single-vehicle accident on I-69 South near State Road 445. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at approximately 6:47 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the driver of a Nissan Armada had been ejected from the vehicle, which had reportedly rolled multiple times. The driver was found with a pulse but was suffering from a head injury and a leg injury.

Due to the severity of the injuries and the proximity of an Eastern Greene Fire Territory station equipped with a helipad, a medical helicopter was dispatched to transport the injured driver to a hospital for urgent care.

An ongoing investigation has determined that the Nissan Armada rolled over multiple times. As of Thursday, April 24, 2025, the driver’s condition remains critical.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the driver’s name out of respect for the family and the driver’s fluctuating condition.
