Road work underway in Seymour: Expect delays on multiple streets

SEYMOUR – The City of Seymour has issued an alert for residents and commuters regarding upcoming road work. Milling and paving operations are scheduled to begin today on several streets throughout the community, which may cause traffic disruptions.

According to city officials, the streets where work is slated to commence today include:

  • 9th Street at the railroad tracks.
  • Shields Avenue from 9th Street to 16th Street.
  • 16th Street from Shields Avenue to Ewing Street.

Additionally, work is anticipated to begin on Thursday on the following streets:

  • Arvin Avenue
  • Vine Street
  • 14th Street
  • Pine Street
  • Poplar Street
  • Brown Street
  • Laurel Street

The city advises that the entire paving project is expected to take up to two weeks to complete. However, the work schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.

Motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid these areas if possible to minimize potential delays and traffic congestion. Please seek alternate routes during this period to ensure smoother travel throughout Seymour.
