INDIANA– The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a safety recall for certain Safety 1st “Grow & Go Sprint” child seats manufactured by Dorel Juvenile Group (Dorel).
The recall affects specific model numbers: CC321GYU, CC321GYUD, CC321GYY, CC321GYYD, CC321HAO, and CC321HAR.

According to the NHTSA, the headrest foam pad on these car seats may not be adequately secured. This can allow a child to detach pieces of the foam, posing a potential choking hazard and increasing the risk of injury.
Dorel will be providing a remedy for this issue free of charge to owners. The company will mail out a replacement headrest pad assembly kit. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed starting June 9, 2025.
Owners of the affected car seat models are encouraged to contact Dorel’s customer service for more information. They can reach Dorel at 1-877-657-9546 or via email at gng-sprint-recall@djgusa.com.
The NHTSA is urging parents and caregivers to check their car seat model numbers to determine if they are included in this recall and to take the necessary steps to receive a free replacement kit from Dorel, ensuring the safety of their children.
