Secretary of State Diego Morales leads Indiana Securities Division in promoting Financial Literacy Month

INDIANAPOLIS – April is Financial Literacy Month, a nationwide initiative dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of financial education. The Indiana Securities Division is proud to support this initiative, equipping Hoosiers with essential tools to make informed financial decisions and protect themselves from fraud.

“My Securities Division is committed to forming partnerships throughout the community to teach financial literacy skills to Hoosiers. Outreach events provide an opportunity to educate Hoosiers and create confidence when it comes to making smart investments.  We are ensuring that Hoosiers have the resources they need to budget wisely, invest confidently, and safeguard their financial well-being,” said Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales.

As a part of this effort, the Division is hosting Plant a Seed, Watch Her Grow on April 12, in partnership with the Hancock County Women’s Resource Center. This event focuses on empowering women with the knowledge and confidence to manage their finances effectively. Attendees will gain insights from experts, participate in discussions, and receive practical guidance to build a strong financial future.

“This month’s focus on financial literacy equips Hoosiers with the tools to thrive personally and professionally.  Our commitment to financial educational programs and events like ‘Plant a Seed, Watch Her Grow’ highlights the importance of providing Hoosiers with education and resources to build brighter financial futures,” said Marie Castetter, Securities Commissioner.

The Indiana Securities Division invites all Hoosiers to take advantage of Financial Literacy Month by exploring the resources available to them; whether learning to budget effectively, planning for long-term financial goals, or spotting the signs of fraud.
