VINCENNES– Fritzner Antoine, 64, of Vincennes, has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for the 2023 murder of his 30-year-old daughter, Sterline Antoine Joseph. The sentencing follows his conviction for the brutal stabbing that occurred on June 24, 2023.

Police responded to a call at a residence on Audubon Drive, where they discovered Sterline Antoine Joseph deceased in the driveway, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Tragically, two young children were present during the violent attack.
During subsequent investigations, Antoine confessed to stabbing his daughter with a knife. He cited frustration over her frequent requests for him to watch her children as the motive for the crime. He later reiterated this confession to detectives.
Knox County Prosecutor Dirk Carnahan sought the maximum sentence of 60 years, emphasizing the severity of the crime and the devastating impact on the victim’s family. Circuit Court Judge Monica Gilmore imposed the maximum sentence, reflecting the court’s condemnation of the heinous act.
