ROACHDALE—A former Roachdale Town Marshal has been arrested following an investigation into allegations of theft and official misconduct.

Ty’Waun Burks, 41, of Avon, IN, was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant last night by Deputy Elisha McGinnis of the Hendricks County Sheriff’s Department. The arrest followed an investigation initiated in October 2024 by Indiana State Police Trooper Detective Colton Maynor of the Putnamville State Police Post.
The investigation revealed that Burks allegedly deprived the Roachdale Police Department of property and stole items from the department’s evidence room for personal gain.
Putnam County Prosecutor Timothy Bookwalter requested the arrest warrant after reviewing the investigation’s findings. Burks was arrested without incident and transported to the Hendricks County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have stated that no further information is available for release.
Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
