LAWRENCE CO. – The Lawrence County Assessor’s Office is enhancing its Geographic Information System (GIS) capabilities by purchasing an ArcGIS license.
The county currently utilizes WTH Technology for GIS and mapping products and services, and this acquisition will allow the office to upload topographical and aerial photos to the system.
These enhanced visuals will be for internal use only and accessible to officials within the Assessor’s Office and the Sheriff’s Department, not the public. The Sheriff’s Department will utilize the photos for crime investigations and suspect searches.
The cost is $700, funded through the Assessor’s Office budget.
