BEDFORD— The Bedford Board of Works and Safety approved the resignation of a firefighter and the hiring of a new one during its meeting on Tuesday at the StoneGate Arts and Education Center.

Bedford Fire Chief Luke Pinnick presented the board with a request to accept the resignation of Firefighter 3rd Class Seth Brown. Pinnick did not provide specific details regarding Brown’s departure but expressed appreciation for his service to the department.
In addition to the resignation, Pinnick requested approval for the hiring of Isaac Long as a probationary firefighter 3rd class. The board voted unanimously to approve both requests.
Long will undergo training and evaluation as he begins his probationary period with the Bedford Fire Department.
The Bedford Board of Works and Safety meets regularly to oversee city operations, including personnel decisions within public safety departments.
