Obituary: Leroy D. Terrell

September 26, 1994 – February 15, 2025

Captain Leroy D. Terrell, 30, of Bedford, passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025, following a motor vehicle accident.

He was born on September 26, 1994, the son of Robert Terrell and Deborah (Stafford) Terrell.

Leroy was a Firefighter and EMT with several different fire departments in Monroe and Lawrence Counties. He was a graduate of Morrilton High School in Arkansas and was of the Christian faith. Leroy’s passion for the fire service, his leadership, and his unwavering commitment to helping others, will never be forgotten. His influence reached far beyond the firehouse, touching the lives of his family, friends, and the many firefighters he trained and worked alongside.

Surviving to cherish the memory of Leroy are his parents; Robert and Deborah (Stafford) Terrell; Fiancé, Halie Crane; two sisters, Tamsen (Tyler) Pate and Robin O’Quinn; two brothers, John (Samantha) Terrell and Tommy Minton; paternal grandmother, Georgia Terrell; one aunt, Brenda (Tom) Hardwick; one uncle, Anthony (Alexis) Terrell; along with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Leroy in death is his paternal grandfather, Dale Terrell; maternal grandparents, Dwight Stafford and Kaye Stafford; uncle, Jeff Barrick; and his beloved dog, Nova.

Funeral services for Leroy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, at the Ferguson- Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford with pastor Michael Gray officiating and with special participation by the IFVA and their Honor Guard. Burial will follow at Bartlettsville Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 20, with an IFVA memorial service at 6:00 p.m. also at the Ferguson-Lee Chapel in Bedford.
