Jay Swearingen, 80, of Pekin, IL, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
He was born March 18, 2025, in Peoria, IL, the son of Frank and Maxine (Nepper) Swearingen. Jay was a high school graduate, a U.S. Air Force veteran, and worked as a millwright with Caterpillar.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his four children; two sisters, Helen and Kay; one brother, Terry; and several grandchildren.
Preceding Jay in death were his parents, along with several brothers and sisters.
Cremation was chosen, and there will be no services at this time.
Ferguson-Lee Chapel of Thorne-George Family Funeral Homes in Bedford has been entrusted with Jay’s care and services.
