WASHINGTON, CO. – A woman accused of killing her 5-year-old son and leaving his body in a suitcase in Southern Indiana has been declared competent to stand trial following a period of psychiatric treatment.
Dejaune Ludie Anderson, who faces charges of murder, neglect of a dependent, and obstruction of justice in connection with Cairo Ammar Jordan’s death, will appear for a pretrial conference on February 13, 2025. The hearing will determine her trial date.

Anderson was previously declared incompetent after identifying herself as “Princess Califia Hatun Tupac Bey II” and claiming surveillance by the U.S. Space Force and National Security Agency. She was subsequently committed to the Division of Mental Health and Addiction at Logansport State Hospital for treatment.
The case dates back to 2022 when a mushroom hunter discovered her son’s body stuffed in a suitcase in a heavily wooded area near East Holder Road in Washington County. Anderson was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in California in April 2024, nearly two years after the incident.

Washington County Judge Larry Medlock confirmed that Anderson’s doctor certified her fitness to stand trial. She will be transported from the state hospital to the Washington County jail for the upcoming proceedings.
