She was born in Lawrence County on April 12, 1948, to Davis Osmond ‘Bud’ Terrell and Florence Imogene (Fultz) Terrell. She married Steven Gilstrap on June 8, 1968, and he survives. Other survivors include son Scott (Amber) Gilstrap and daughter Lisa (Rob) Callicott; four grandchildren: Brandon (Amber) Gilstrap, Ashley Gilstrap, David Callicott, and Jack Callicott; one great-grandchild, Jace Gilstrap; her sister, Kris (Jim) Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janyce.
She graduated from Shawswick and was a homemaker after the kids were born; she was a devoted wife, putting up with all of Steve’s activities and work absences, and was the best bird spotter there ever was. She was a good cook, a house builder, an exceptionally good helpmate, a devoted Christian, church/food pantry worker, and she got along with everyone. Linda really loved watching sports. She especially liked IU basketball and the Pacers and Colts. She donated 110 units of blood.
She loved playing cards with her grandchildren or anybody else who would play with her, though many of us believed she cheated. She loved being around family and friends and working in the garden and yard, and she actually liked mowing the grass.
Her family and friends will greatly miss her.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29th, in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, with Marc Fields and Wayne Gaither officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 28th, at the Day & Carter Mortuary and from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MCOC Bread of Life Food Pantry, 1004 West Main Street, Mitchell, IN 47446, or donate blood in her honor.
Family and friends may express condolences at www.daycarter.com.
