Charles F. Anderson, aka “Bigg Daddy” 71, of Bedford, passed away at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Born October 6, 1953, in Dallas, TX, he was the son of Leroy Franklin and Martha (Hayes) Anderson. He married Sheila White on December 31, 2019, and she survives. He was a transportation manager at NSWC Crane and a cook at the American Legion. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the Bedford Boat & Sportsman’s Club, American Legion Gillen Post #33, Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F & AM, V.F.W. 1686 in Oolitic, and the Eagles Lodge in Shoals.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila, of Bedford; two sons, Josh Anderson and Nathan Anderson both of Bedford; two step-sons, Robert White and wife, Ashley, of Mitchell, and Josh Walls and wife, Holly, of Bedford; eleven grandchildren, Eliza Clare Anderson, Ethan Anderson, Elliana Anderson, Ellenor Anderson, Ember Anderson, Everett Anderson, Chloe Anderson, Katie White, Nevaeh Walls, Madison Walls, and Raelynn Walls; one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Anderson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 31 st in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Mark Fugate officiating. Military rites will be accorded by members of Gillen Post #33 American Legion. Cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
