According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Bedford Police Officer Joshua Turner, officers responded to a call from the girlfriend around 9:33 p.m., who reported that items in her home were damaged and that Jackson was responsible.

Upon arrival, Officer Turner met the girlfriend, who detailed the situation. She told police she had left her home for approximately an hour, and when she returned, she discovered that a bathroom door had been ripped off its hinges, a television was severely damaged, and a mirror was shattered. She stated that Jackson, her boyfriend, had been in the home while she was away and was not a resident, but visiting only a few times a week.

She explained that she and Jackson had been arguing, allegedly over his suspicion that she had accessed his phone, a claim she denied. She mentioned that upon returning home, Jackson confronted her outside, retrieved his keys from her, and commented, “By the way, your TV and mirror are broken,” but did not mention the bathroom door.

The woman expressed her desire to pursue charges against Jackson but did not want to file battery charges despite an altercation during which Jackson grabbed her arms while trying to get his keys back. She noted that this was not the first instance of Jackson damaging her property.

Following the incident, Officer Turner attempted to contact Jackson multiple times, but his attempts to reach him by phone were unsuccessful. He also sought updated contact information from the girlfriend, but she could not obtain a valid number.

The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office, and a warrant was issued for Jackson’s arrest. He was arrested on that warrant on Monday, October 7.

Jackson now faces charges of criminal mischief in connection with the reported damage.

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent unless convicted through due legal proceedings. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
