BEDFORD – A woman is behind bars after Bedford Police officers responded to the 1000 block of Stevens Avenue after a report of a physical domestic dispute.
When police arrived on Sunday, June 2 at 3:28 p.m., they were waved down by the male victim.

Bedford Police Department Captain Dakoda Emmons spoke to 23-year-old Mackenzie Clark, who was agitated. She admitted she started the fight and just wanted the male to leave. Clark admitted she started the fight by pushing the male. Police found a large knife on the kitchen table.
The male told Officer Landon Jones that the argument had started about going out to eat. He said Clark began throwing punches. He admitted he slapped her in an attempt to get her to stop. He told police he was tired of being hit by Clark.
During the argument, the male told the two children to go into the bedroom.
The male said Clark then went into the kitchen, grabbed a large knife, and said, “I will stab you, I will kill you in your sleep.”
Officer Jones said the male had suffered cuts on his chest and abdomen.
He refused to sign a battery affidavit.
Clark said the fight began because the male was taking too long to get ready to go eat, and the kids were getting fussy. She asked the male to leave because she was “getting more and more angry.”
She admitted to pushing the male repeatedly. The male continued to refuse to leave. She said the male did get physical with her, but it was in self-defense.
She admitted to getting the knife and threatening the male with it to scare him. She admitted she swiped the knife in the male’s direction.
Clark was arrested on charges of domestic battery with a deadly weapon, interfering with a 911 call, domestic battery in the presence of a child under the age of 16, and intimidation with a deadly weapon.
