Domestic dispute in vehicle lands man in jail on drug charges

BEDFORD – On Tuesday, June 4, Lawrence County Central Dispatch received a call reporting that a female was assaulted while driving.

Lawrence County Police Sheriff’s Department Deputy Bailey Duprey, Captain Andrew Phillips, and Sgt. A. Pope responded.

Police detained 41-year-old Brain Hearn. He admitted he had drugs in his pockets. Police found a baggy containing crystal meth, a glass jar of THC wax, and a glass smoking device.

Hearn told police that a female had struck him with her phone on the left side of the face multiple times. He denied striking the woman.

The woman told police Hearn had struck her multiple times in the back of the head while she was driving. She told police she pulled over to let Hearn out of the vehicle and call 911.

Both Hearn and the woman refused to sign battery affidavits.

Hearn was arrested on charges of possession of meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

The information on the domestic fight was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Officer for review for possible charges.
