
GALENA – Bedford North Lawrence finished tied for eighth in the Floyd Central Invitational during boys high school golf action at Valley View on Saturday.
The Stars carded a team total of 329 in the 22-team field. No.11 Castle won the title with an impressive 288, followed by Floyd Central (314) and No.21 Franklin (317).
Evan Tillett paced the Stars with a 3-over 75, while Brody Simmons posted 81. Brayden Ohl (85) and Hunter Martin (88) capped the BNL scoring.
”I thought we played well,” BNL coach Trey Turner said. “We made some mistakes coming down the stretch that we would like to take back, but I’m proud of the way they fought. There’s also a lot of areas we can get better, so I’m excited to see where we are in a month or two.”
Layne Cummingham paced Castle with an even-par 72.
BNL will visit Washington on April 18.
