INDIANAPOLIS – On Wednesday, Governor Mike Braun traveled to Jackson and Scott counties to meet with Hoosiers and highlight two assets helping strengthen communities in southern Indiana: a growing local business in Seymour and the Hardy Lake Raptor Center in Scott County.

In Jackson County, Governor Braun toured S&S Diesel Motorsport, a Seymour-based company that started with two employees and has since grown to employ more than 40 Hoosier employees. Commissioner Andrew Stauffer and Mayor Matt Nicholson hosted Governor Braun during his visit to Jackson County.
“ Getting out into communities across Indiana gives me a firsthand look at what is working, where the obstacles are, and how state government can be a better partner in growth. I want to thank Commissioner Andrew Stauffer and Mayor Matt Nicholson for hosting me in Jackson County this week and Commissioners Greg Prince and Randy Julian for showing me the Hardy Lake Raptor Center in Scott County, where DNR employees work hard to preserve Indiana’s natural splendor.” – Governor Mike Braun

In Scott County, Governor Braun visited the Hardy Lake Raptor Center at Hardy Lake State Recreation Area, joined by Commissioners Greg Prince and Randy Julian. Hardy Lake is one of three Indiana Department of Natural Resources properties with a raptor center. The facility houses several permanently injured birds of prey and helps educate visitors and Hoosiers across the state about Indiana’s hawks, owls, falcons, and vultures.
