ELNORA – North Daviess rolled to a 5-0 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during girls high school tennis action on Thursday.
The Cougars dropped only eight games in the five matches.
In singles, Macy Alderson conquered Emma Conover 6-2, 6-1 at No.1, Adalyn Smith stopped Emma Voris 6-0, 6-0 at No.2, and Faith Sexton topped Bailey Fisher 6-1, 6-0 at No.3.
North Daviess also cruised in doubles as Emma Taylor and Maleah Lengacher defeated Claire Edwards and Elizabeth Miskuf 6-2, 6-1 at No.1. Alexis Tolbert and Madelynn Britton took Jada Key and Forum Patel 6-0, 6-1 at No.2.
“I am proud of Bailey, Claire, and Elizabeth for not giving up,” BNL coach Jennifer Edwards said. “They made changes when they needed to. Almost every one of their games went to deuce.
“These girls have to figure out how to make decisions and adjust during a match, and we just aren’t there yet. We have plenty to work on in practice, but moving our feet will be number one on the list.”
BNL (0-3) will compete in the Paoli Invitational on Saturday.
