Closure planned on State Road 58 in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving, Inc., is scheduled to close State Road 58 over a tributary to the South Fork Salt Creek on or after Thursday, April 16, to complete the box culvert replacement project southwest of Freetown.

The closure will take place between State Road 135 and South Fork Salt Creek. S.R. 58 is expected to reopen in mid-May, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route, which follows S.R. 135 to U.S. 50 to S.R. 446 back to S.R. 58.

This project is part of a $6.8 million contract awarded to E&B Paving in July 2025. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
