WASHINGTON – A newly formed committee has outlined its primary areas of focus for its upcoming term, prioritizing policy solutions for chronic disease management and the reduction of administrative burdens. The group aims to improve healthcare safety and outcomes while expanding the use of real-time data to accelerate claims processing and enhance quality measurement. Further priorities include improving care for vulnerable populations, specifically those within the Medicaid system, and strengthening the sustainability of Medicare Advantage through modernized risk adjustment methods.

Committee members are appointed to serve two-year terms and will conduct regular meetings that are open to the public in compliance with federal transparency requirements. The committee is officially authorized under the Public Health Service Act and operates according to the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The first meeting is scheduled to convene later this year, with official notices and public engagement opportunities to be posted in the Federal Register and on the CMS website.
