OOLITIC – The Oolitic Town Council has scheduled an executive session for mid-April to discuss potential economic prospects for the community.
The meeting is set for Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. EDT. The session will be held in the Boardroom at Oolitic Town Hall, located at 109 Main Street.
In accordance with Indiana’s Open Door Law, this meeting will be an executive session and is not open to the general public.
The council has cited Indiana Code 5-14-1.5-6.1(4) as the legal basis for the closed-door meeting. This specific statute allows governing bodies to meet privately to conduct interviews and negotiations with industrial or commercial prospects—or their agents—regarding potential development within the political subdivision.
Executive sessions are a standard tool for local municipalities to vet confidential business proposals before they are brought to a public vote or announced to the community.
Residents looking for general town updates or public meeting minutes can visit the Town Hall during normal business hours or attend the next regularly scheduled public council meeting.
