STARKE COUNTY – On June 30, 2025, the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Bureau was contacted by the Starke County Sheriff’s Department regarding an allegation of battery and strangulation that reportedly occurred on June 28, 2025.
Due to a potential conflict of interest, the Starke County Prosecutor’s Office requested the appointment of a Special Prosecutor. The case was assigned to the Howard County Prosecutor’s Office.
In coordination with the Special Prosecutor, Indiana State Police detectives took two individuals into custody on March 11, 2026.
Robert W. Huff, 45, and Kari A. Huff, 39, were arrested without incident and transported to the Starke County Jail.
Robert Huff was booked on the following preliminary charges of strangulation, a Level 6 felony, domestic battery, a Level 6 felony and neglect of a dependent, a level 6 felony.
Kari Huff was booked on the following preliminary charges of domestic battery, a Level 6 felony and neglect of a dependent, a Level 6 felony.
