Bedford City Offices to close for Good Friday; Trash and transit schedules adjusted

BEDFORD Mayor Sam Craig’s office has announced that all City of Bedford government offices will be closed on Friday, April 3, 2026, in observance of Good Friday. While administrative offices will be shuttered, essential services will see varying schedule adjustments throughout the holiday weekend.

Residents who rely on the city’s public transit system should plan ahead, as TASC buses will not be running on Friday. Regular bus service is expected to resume its normal schedule on Monday, April 6.

The City of Bedford Sanitation Department has released a modified schedule to ensure that waste collection remains as consistent as possible. Residents should take note of the specific instructions for their route type:

  • Standard Friday Trash Routes: There will be no change to the regular Friday pickup. Households typically serviced on Fridays should set their carts out as usual on April 3.
  • Special Assistance & Rear Loader Routes: These pickups will be delayed. Residents on these routes will have their collection moved to Monday, April 6.
  • Recycling Routes: Similarly, all recycling collection scheduled for the holiday will instead take place on Monday, April 6.

As always, the Bedford Police and Fire Departments will remain fully operational. Residents experiencing an emergency should call 911. For non-emergency utility issues, such as a water main break, the city typically maintains on-call staff to handle urgent infrastructure needs during holiday closures.

City offices will reopen for standard business hours on Monday morning.
