BEDFORD – The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County invites community members and local businesses to learn more about a new fundraiser to support programs for area youth.

The organization is preparing for its first-ever “Stirring Up Great Futures” cooking competition fundraiser, scheduled for April 18, and is encouraging interested participants to attend one of two upcoming informational Zoom sessions.
The online sessions will give potential teams and supporters an overview of the event, how to participate, and how the fundraiser will benefit children and teens served by the club.
Two Zoom meeting options are available. Click the date you prefer for a link to the Zoom lobby:
Interested participants only need to attend one of the sessions.
During the virtual meetings, organizers will explain what the Stirring Up Great Futures event will involve, how individuals or businesses can form teams, and the fundraising expectations tied to the competition. Each team participating in the event will work toward a $1,000 fundraising goal to support the club’s programs.
Organizers will also outline what teams can expect on the night of the cooking competition and how the event’s proceeds will help provide resources, programs, and opportunities for local youth.
The sessions are intended to be casual and informative, allowing prospective participants to ask questions before deciding whether to take part in the April fundraiser.
Community members interested in forming a team, supporting the event, or learning more about how the fundraiser benefits local children are encouraged to attend one of the online sessions. Organizers say the new event aims to bring the community together while helping create “great futures” for the young people served by the Boys & Girls Club.
