LAWRENCE CO. – Voters in Lawrence County are being reminded of key dates for the upcoming election cycle, as local officials encourage residents to prepare early and make use of available online resources.
Lawrence County Clerk Amy Voorhies told county commissioners this morning that the state’s voter information website, indianavoters.in.gov, provides everything residents need to participate in the upcoming elections.

The next primary election in Indiana will take place on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. The state’s general election is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026.
According to Voorhies, voters can find registration tools, sample ballots, polling locations, and voting hours through the state’s online portal managed by the Indiana Secretary of State.

“Everything is on that website,” Voorhies said. “If people would go to the website, it would help them so much.”
In addition to preparing voters, the clerk’s office is also seeking residents willing to serve as poll workers and Republican and Democratic inspectors during the upcoming elections. They can call their county chair or the voter registration office.
Before voting begins, the county will also conduct a public test of its voting equipment. The testing will take place on April 2 at 9:30 a.m. at Courthouse Plaza to ensure the machines are functioning properly ahead of the primary election. The public is welcome to attend.
County officials encourage residents to check their registration status and review voting information early to avoid any issues on Election Day.
