BEDFORD A Bedford woman is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after police say she shattered a window to enter a residence where she was legally barred from visiting.

Autumn McCluskey, 43, was taken into custody on the morning of Sunday, February 22, 2026. She faces preliminary charges of residential entry, invasion of privacy, and criminal mischief.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed by Captain Nicholas A. Lemke of the Bedford Police Department, officers were dispatched to a home in the 1500 block of 3rd Street at approximately 8:14 a.m. The homeowner reported that a female was actively breaking into his house.

Upon arrival, Captain Lemke was met at the front door by the homeowner, who stated that McCluskey had entered through a window and was currently in the bedroom. Officers entered the room and located McCluskey lying on the bed. She was ordered to her feet and escorted from the residence.

In a recorded statement, the homeowner told investigators he was asleep when he was awakened by banging on his window. He recognized the woman as McCluskey and told her to go away. Instead, McCluskey allegedly broke the glass and climbed through the window to gain entry.

He clarified that while McCluskey had lived at the residence in the past, she was no longer welcome there.

A check with dispatch confirmed that the situation was further complicated by a legal barrier; an order of protection against McCluskey was served on June 2, 2025. The order is set to remain active until May 27, 2027.

Captain Lemke documented the scene, noting a clearly broken window with glass on the ground outside and a damaged window screen.

McCluskey was placed in handcuffs and transported to the Lawrence County Jail for lodging on charges of residential entry, a Level 6 felony, invasion of privacy, violating the protective order, and criminal mischief.
