LAWRENCE COUNTY — The Lawrence County Highway Department has announced a temporary road closure for East Grissom Road effective today to facilitate necessary infrastructure repairs.
The road will close at 8:00 a.m. and reopen by 2:30 p.m.
According to a statement from Superintendent Brian D. Sowder, crews will be on-site to replace several culverts along the route. These repairs are essential for maintaining proper drainage and ensuring the long-term stability of the roadway.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank the community for their continued patience as we work to improve our county’s infrastructure,” stated Superintendent Brian D. Sowder.
Motorists are advised to plan alternative routes for the duration of the morning and early afternoon. While the closure is expected to be brief, the Highway Department emphasizes that the work is vital for local safety.
