ELKHART CO. – Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott recently announced the promotion of Sergeant Bruce Duhaime to the rank of lieutenant, where he will serve as the District Commander of the Toll Road Post. Lieutenant Duhaime earned this promotion through completion of written testing and a competitive interview process.

Duhaime is a graduate of Noblesville High School in Noblesville, IN. Following high school, he attended Indiana University studying sports marketing. Duhaime served his Country in the United States Marine Corps both active duty and reserves from 1990-1998.
Duhaime is a graduate of the Indiana State Police 52nd Recruit Academy that graduated on June 4, 1995. He was assigned to the Toll Road Post following graduation before transferring to the Bremen Post in 1997. During his time with the Indiana State Police, Duhaime has served in many roles. He has served as a field training officer (FTO), field training officer coordinator (FTOC), an Honor Guard member, TIP Team member, crash reconstructionist, defensive tactics instructor, been involved in Marijuana Investigations, and been on motorcycle patrol from 2005-2007. He has also served as a member of the SWAT Team from 1998-2009.
Lt. Duhaime was first promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2009. He served in this role until 2012 when he joined the ISP Drug Enforcement Section (DES) as a DEA Task Force Officer. After a year in this role he returned to the Bremen Post after being promoted again to the rank of sergeant where he supervised troopers assigned to Elkhart County. Duhaime has served in this role until this most recent promotion.
Over the years, Lt. Duhaime has spent many hours instructing at the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy. He has served as a defensive tactics instructor and taught classes in surviving critical incidents and helped develop scenario-based training that was used to teach recruits.
Duhaime is also a recipient of a Combat Action Award that he received in 2005.
Lt. Duhaime lives in Elkhart County with his wife, Kelly.
