Phyllis Anne Nikirk, 98, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at her residence.
Born April 23, 1927, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Hiriam and Blanche (Lehman) Jackson. She married Robert W. Nikirk on November 10, 1946, and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2011.
Phyllis was a member of Hillcrest Christian Church and worked as an Instructional Assistant for Jay County School Corporation for 18 years.
Survivors include four children, Nancy Nikirk of Fort Wayne, Philip (Marcia) Nikirk of Anderson, Clara Shaw of Bloomfield, and Sara Nikirk of Bedford; eleven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, her son Alan Nikirk, a granddaughter Emily Nikirk, a grandson Michael Nikirk, and a great-grandson Brodie Leiter, siblings Patsy Oldham, Robert Jackson, and Myra Maxwell.
A graveside memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
