Robert ‘Bob’ H. Beyers, 76, of Heltonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully at Indiana University Hospital Bedford on February 12, 2026.
He was born on November 16, 1949, in Bedford, Indiana, to the late Lloyd and Helen Beyers. Robert was baptized at Heltonville Christian Church and graduated from Heltonville High School with the class of 1967. He retired from Cummins Engine Company, where he dedicated many years of service and worked at both the Columbus and Seymour locations.
Bob was a talented woodworker who took great pride in creating beautiful custom cabinets and restoring furniture, often sharing his craftsmanship with family and friends. He especially treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and laughter.
Some of his favorite moments were the simple ones, relaxing and watching television with his beloved dog, Oscar, faithfully by his side. He also enjoyed playing cards and other games with family and friends and going to karaoke with his younger brother Ronnie to listen to others sing.
Bob will be remembered for his humor, quiet talents, his love for his family, and the comfort he found in life’s simple pleasures.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Robert “Andy” (Erica) Beyers, Mindy (Sean) Hughes, and Cory (Sarah Beck) Beyers; grandchildren, Halle Beyers, Brayden Beyers, Trista Wischmeier, Travis Wischmeier, Dylan (Bailey) Hughes, and Lukas (Kayliegh Hall) Hughes; one great-grandchild, Hudson Hughes; brother, Lloyd “Jack” (Liz) Beyers; sisters, Mary Beth (Jerry) Williams and Wilma Jean (Kenny) Mitchell; several nieces and nephews; and his precious dog, Oscar.
