Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County ‘Our Indiana Kids’ program provides boost for Men’s Warming Shelter

BEDFORD Youth at the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County spent part of January giving back to the community by assembling warming bags for the Men’s Warming Shelter.

Participants in the club’s Our Indiana Kids program at the Lincoln After School Site worked together to create the bags, which were filled with cold-weather essentials such as lotion, hand warmers, and lip balm. Each bag also included a handwritten note offering encouragement and care.

The service project gave club members an opportunity to learn about the importance of helping others and the impact small acts of kindness can have, particularly during the winter months. Club officials said the children took pride in knowing their time and effort would help someone stay warmer and feel supported.

The Lincoln After School Site is one of several Boys & Girls Club locations in Lawrence County that provides after-school programming focused on academic support, enrichment activities, and character development. The Our Indiana Kids program emphasizes learning, leadership, and community service.

The Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County serves local youth through a variety of programs designed to promote positive development and lifelong skills.
