Luella Brown, 91, of Bedford, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Hendricks Regional Health Hospital in Danville, Indiana.
Born April 4, 1934, in Hardinsburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of James Franklin Jenkins and Elizabeth Lorraine (Denton) Jenkins. Luella married Richard Brown on February 7, 1951, and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2023 after 72 years of marriage. She was a member of Dive Christian Church. She worked as an explosives handler at NWS Crane and later worked at Whitney Tool as a machinist. Luella was a wonderful homemaker and caregiver; she loved the Lord and her church and enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Debra Louise (Brown) Morse and husband Thomas of Thailand, Jim Brown and wife Kathy of Danville, David Brown and wife Patty of Williams, Bobby Brown and wife Faye of Bedford, Donny Brown and wife Wendy of Danville; eighteen grandchildren, Angela Morse, Amber Mooney, Autumn Morse, Richard Morse, Mathew Morse, Charles Morse, Joshua Morse, Austin Brown, Aubrey Harbeson, Allison Doub, Jami Fortin, Jason Brown, Kyle Brown, Kurt Brown, Sheldon Brown, Landon Brown, Ashdon Brown, Trisdon Brown; twenty six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, and three sisters Ruth Jenkins, Bert Martin, and Shirley Goodroad.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Dive Christian Church in Bedford, with Pastor Joe McAdams and Pastor Robert Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Paoli Community Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to the hour of service.
