MONROE CO. – Long-time incumbent Monroe County Council Member Marty Hawk (R) filed for re-election on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Hawk represents District 3, located in the North and Western parts of the county, encompassing the towns of Ellettsville and Stinesville.

Hawk, a local real estate professional and community advocate, was first appointed to serve as a Council Member in 1988 after being caucused into a vacated At-Large position. She has represented the 3rd District consistently since 1999. For many years, she has also served as a local news contributor on WGCL Radio, helping to ensure the residents of the community are aware of the current matters in front of County Government
“I am grateful for the opportunity to have served the people of our community and look forward to doing so for 4 more years,” said Hawk after completing the paperwork process to run for re-election.
Hawk is the lone Republican currently elected to a county-wide office in Monroe County. Her campaign is paid for by the Committee to re-elect Martha “Marty” Hawk for Monroe County Council District 3.
