SCOTTSBURG – Scottsburg won four matches on the mat while clipping Bedford North Lawrence 36-29 during high school wrestling action on Tuesday night.
BNL’s lone competitive victory came from Wyatt Philpott. He dominated James Salkold for a 22-4 major decision at 138 pounds.
“We keep wrestling better fundamentally, but once again we made small mistakes that the other team caught, and that was the difference in the meet,” BNL coach Mike Branam said. “We are both young teams, so we really matched up well. There was some good wrestling tonight, but the end score came down to the fact that we made mistakes and they didn’t.”
The Stars will host North Knox on Thursday.
