Springville woman arrested on felony meth charges

BLOOMINGTON – A lengthy investigation by the Indiana State Police (ISP) Drug Enforcement Section culminated in the arrest of a Lawrence County woman on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

Detectives initiated a targeted drug investigation into Baylee Lackey, 23, of Springville. Through a variety of investigative techniques, detectives successfully developed the probable cause necessary to secure an arrest warrant.

Lackey was located in Bloomington earlier today and taken into custody without incident. The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department provided assistance to ISP detectives throughout the course of the investigation.

Lackey has been booked on high-level felony charges related to the distribution of methamphetamine including dealing meth, a Level 2 felony and conspiracy to deal meth, a Level 2 felony.

Those facing criminal charges are considered innocent until proven guilty through a fair and due legal process. Accusations alone do not imply guilt; the judicial system will evaluate the presented evidence to reach a verdict.
